Zlatan !!!

Dear all,
After weeks without writing here Ana found something that I should talk about. Yes, football again! But this time it's not to celebrate a victory (too boring to celebrate three championships in a row), it's for celebrating that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is finally a FCB player. As it happened with Henrik Larsson I'm really happy to have a Swedish player in the forward line, scoring goals for my team (yes, I bought the club some years ago, but it's still a secret hehehe).
I just hope that Zlatan understands the importance of scoring 4 goals against Real Madrid, so from here I encourage him to do it!
Lycka till Zlatan!

Have a nice summer!

The sun is shining and the warm weather is around us, summer is here!
Taking advantage of it, we have been doing some trips with family and with friends and now we are looking for new places to go and spend more vacations with more family. It seems like we don't work here... isn't true, Albert has been working hard in his lab and I have been working hard finding a job, and finally I got it! Well, I will start there at mid August, so by now I can relax and enjoy being on vacations... as soon as I am working there, I will explain more to you! Now, I want to show you some of the nice places we have been lately.

UC Berkeley, yes it's nice to be there also in summer!

San Francisco, what to say, nice all year long.

Yosemite, let me say aaaawsome!

Grand Canyon, as aaawsome as Yosemite.

And New York, you have to see it by yourself. One of the cities where we could live.

And now is your turn, what are your plans for the summer? How is the weather in Sweden, Japan, Austria, Spain, Australia, ...? We will be glad to hear from you! So please, leave us a comment!

Iniesta, Barça hero !!

Dear all,
Shouting "GOOOOOOOOOOOAL !!!" in the lab is somehow strange when the 100% of people working here do not care at all about football (I will never call this sport soccer!).
Today's hero is Andrés Iniesta, who scored the 1-1 in minute 93.
The final will be against Man United, in Rome, May the 27th. Hope the best for Barça!!!!!

What has happened these weeks

It has been a long time without writing, but we have been really busy. Since the spring arrived, every weekend we have had something to do and even during week days. The weather is being so nice and warm and any excuse is good to go for a walk, to swim or to visit some of the public and local parks. Also we, lovers of barbecues, are more than happy because we have already done three and the BBQ season has just started!!

In the other hand, during this period of time, two of my classmates have gone home: Miwako to Japan and Margit to Austria (do not confuse with Australia...). I will miss you a lot girls, but I hope you will have all the best and I will see you soon here, there or wherever!

Here there are some pictures where you can see how busy we have been :)

Potluck at Berkeley Adult School to say Goodby to Miwako.

BBQ with classmates at Berkeley Marina park.

Feeding squirrels with Margit (sshh! do not tell to anyone, it was forbidden!).
Walking on Berkeley Rose Garden.

Views of the Bay Area from UC Berkeley during Cal Day.

Views of the Bay from Lombard Street (San Francisco).

Japan Garden at Berkeley Botanical Garden.

Japan part II

Dear all,
I've been told that we have a group of Japanese followers that liked the previous video of "how to eat sushi" even though it's somehow wrong but funny. Well, in our home country there are quite a lot of people that are fascinated with Japan, in part because of the huge amount of manga/cartoons we have had (since the 70's!), and still have in our TV stations. Here we present you our modest tribute to the ones we remember with a smile and that already are part of our lives. Our favourites are, of course, Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump and Doraemon.
A thing we liked a lot was to set the audio into the original version, and nowadays you still can find people in our country who are able to sing the opening or ending of different Japanese cartoons even though they don't know a word in Japanese... because we love to listen the original versions we think that maybe the Japanese people would like to hear them in our loved Catalan. You can take it for granted that both Ana and me can sing all of them!! (better or worse, but we try hard, hehehe)
We hope you like it ! (click on the image to enlarge it)
Japan part III will be about a Japanese TV program that for us is the best humor program in the world.

How to eat sushi

The English course that I am taking is offering me not only English improvement, but cultural enrichment. Because of that, I am taking advantage of it and I am asking all kind of questions that just appear into my head.

One of the countries and cultures I am interested most is the Japanese. Well, I know it isn't unusual to be amazed with that country but now, I can ask and have resolved all my curiosities by my Japanese classmates, who know everything from their land and by our teacher who knows a lot of things as well.

Recently, I explained to them about a video that tells, in a funny way, how to eat sushi. So, I dedicate this video to you girls (later, I will ask you for the true and the untrue facts told there) and, of course, to all of you that follow this blog.

Have fun! Vi ses!
